FOP Secretary Appointed to POST Council

GOVERNOR GARY HERBERT APPOINTS FEMALE POLICE ASSOCIATION LEADER TO P.O.S.T. COUNCIL.

Salt Lake City, Utah - The Utah State Fraternal Order of Police (“Utah FOP”) today announced its support for Governor Herbert’s appointment of Sgt. Christie Moren to the Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) Council in one of the “at large” positions.

Christie serves as the State Secretary for the Utah State Lodge, Fraternal Order of Police.  She is currently a sergeant with the Sandy Police Department where she is a forensic investigator.  Christie will bring a vast amount of knowledge and insight to the council as it relates to line officers.  Utah FOP President Brent Jex, stated, “Christie is one of the brightest, most honest, most dedicated officers that I have had the pleasure of associating with.  She will bring a much needed dynamic to POST Council and I would encourage the other members of the council to seek her input.”  The FOP had petitioned Governor Herbert to appoint a line officer to the council that regulates peace officers in the State of Utah.

The Utah State Fraternal Order of Police is a fraternal organization aimed at supporting law enforcement officers throughout the State of Utah.  The Utah FOP has existed for 26 years and is a subordinate Lodge to the National Fraternal Order of Police, established in 1915.
